"LONG" signed 1790 Petition Formation of Buncombe

I am attempting to get any further information on a Wm. LONG, who signed on the third sheet
of names for the Petition for Formation of Buncombe. His name also appears
on the list of the Eleventh Company, but, is not there in the next census. He may be the
William Long who appears in the 1810 Montgomery CO census. Does anyone have any
data on the surname LONG, in this area, around 1790-1800? Appreciate anything which
could be shared.
