I have in my possession a portrait photo of a young woman with the imprint "Brock, Asheville, NC" on it. She looks to be in her mid twenties to early thirties, is dark haired, dark eyes, is fairskinned and has high cheekbones. She is very pretty and is dressed in styles of the late 1800's, dark clothing, a rather severe and high-collared dress. Am trying to identify the photo. It was in a drawer along side photos belonging to my grandfather Weaver of Simpson Co/ Forrest Co Mississippi. My great-grandfather Francis A. Weaver (b. 1878) claimed to be from Weaverville, N.C. and we believe that this picture must have been his.
We know nothing else about his family. Does anyone else have a similar photo, or have a connection to a Weaver in Weaverville/Asheville that might fit this family? Frank/Francis would have left NC abt 1900 for Mississippi, and left family behind.
I am willing to share the photo.
