Dan,

Thanks alot for the suggestion that I get the book on Mount Mitchell. It took a few weeks to receive it after I ordered it. Although it was a short read, it was very informative and gave me insight, and most importantly the two companies that owned the saw mill. My gr-grandfather, John W. Long most likely worked for both companies, in the Black Mountain, Buncombe County area, since he was in the area from 1903 to approx. 1920.

Thanks again.

Gail
