I have toured the Biltmore Estate a number of times. It seems to me that I heard at one time that there was a railroad spur built from Biltmore out to the Biltmore Estate. It was needed so that the stone used in constructing the house could be transported. I may have heard where the stone came from, but I just don't remember.
