I happen to be browsing and saw that you are researching Williams in 1800 Bumcombe, My greatgrandfather was Thomas Jefferson Williams born Nov. 1809, supposely in Ducktown, Tenn., but all the census I've found show birth place as Bumcombe. He died in 1895 and is buried on a mtn. top near Mtn. Grove Church in Franklin, NC. His father was William"Billy"Williams who supposely went to SC before the Revoluntionary War and served in the SC Militia. I'm still trying to find out where he came from. I know where he is supposed to be buried in Franklin and plan to look for the grave. He had to other sons, Burdit and Jesse. Do you think ther is a connection
