It certainly does. Meanwhile -- in case anyone else is interested -- I talked with one of my dad's contemporary cousins today and learned a little more of the story.

It seems that Sherman Register and family lived on Ocean Isle beach. Time after time, as the only (or one of the only) family on the beach, the family evacuated for storms. He decided to ride out this storm at home. What a shame. Hazel was not a storm that could be ridden out.
