James SUGGS Rev War Patriot - any info out there?
Posted by: Sharon Katz (ID *****9315) Date: January 28, 2013 at 18:23:16

I'm looking for any information that might substantiate James SUGGS as a Revolutionary War patriot. Ancestry has a headstone photo for service in the NC Militia but I can't find proof of service.
James was b: 1764 and d: 1851. Was married to Elizabeth BEST d/o Henry (b: c1774 d: c1830).
From 1790 to 1830 he lived in or near the Robeson Co, NC area. Then he moved to Georgia about 1834 with his son Willis SUGGS.

If anyone has any helpful information I would appreciate it. I'm trying to help a friend with her DAR application.

You may email me directly if you wish: ladee_bug02 at yahoo.com

Thank you!
Sharon
