Thanks Bill, appreciate the response. I just read up on the Josiah Sikes you mentioned and his son and saw a cemetery listing with background information on them, tho it seems it is incorrect. He first stated Josiah Jr died Jan 1833 after he applied for his RW pension in Dec 1832....that was correct but for some reason threw out the deed where Jr's son Luke sold some land in 1833, listing himself as the adm of Josiah Sikes SR's will, listed as deceased. He based it on a Josiah Sikes that drew a pension until 1841. That was a totally different Josiah Sikes and he is listed in the 1840 census New Hanover,NC with an Eleanor Carns as 106, Veteran. In the 1830 census he is with son John Sikes, New Hanover, NC 80-90. I have been unable to locate him before then. Still looking for the father of Isaiah Sykes born 1815 NC and was told family history stated his father was also named Isaiah, which located one this morning that might fit. Thanks again for the response. Joan
