The Cabarrus Co., N.C., library, Concord, N.C., has a good genealogy room and Barringer/Behringer is an old prominent family there. Gen Rufus Barringer commanded Confederate N.C. cavalry in the Civil War. He descended Cabarrus militia, war of 1812, Gen. John Paul Barringer.

Wilmington R/W Cont. Line paymaster Capt. Richard Bradley, Sr., had a brother John Bradley in Wilmington, but John never married. James A. Bradley was born 1814, James De Peyster Bradley was born 1836, and James Giles Bradley was born 1858.
