I descend the Barringer / Behringer family of early Cabarrus Co., N.C. I descend Wilmington, N.C., War of 1812, artillery 4th Sgt. Joshua James, Sr. (died Holmes Co., Miss, 1851) who wed Hetty-Bella Sage, who's sisters Elizabeth Sage (b1765) and Sarah (b1774) wed Thomas Cowan, Sr., of New Hanover and Onslow Cos., N.C. Sister Margaret Sage (b1771) wed John Eden. Sgt. James & Gen. McCrae of Wilmington, looked for new plantations in Miss. and Texas. Jim Miller, Southport, N.C. My Richard Bradley, Sr., and father-in-law John Sharpless, III, from Chester, Penn., in the 1750's ran the Bradley & Sharpless Inn, Choefington, on the Cape Fear River, Bladen/Cumberland Co. They removed to Wilmington, N.C.
