Hi Keith and Henry,

Sorry that I have been out of touch, Keith, and I do appreciate the program honoring Isaac Ayers.

I read the question about Isaac being the son of Sampson Jr. and thought that I would add my two cents. Sampson Jr.'s family has been well researched and all of his children identified. If you look at the 1820 Bladen Census Sampson Jr. is listed. According to my calculations this census includes: Sampson Davis Jr. age 38, Rebecca Hester Davis age 30, John age 8, Hannah age 5, Everitt age 2, and Eliza age under 1.

None of the Sampson Davis Jr. researchers believe that Isaac Davis born 1805 was his son. Neither do I. I wish someone could find a document proving his parents.

Keep digging,
Margie
