The 1790 census of Bladen County lists Edward Simpson, Jacob Simpson, John Simpson, Robert Simpson, Scarimon Simpson, Simon Simpson, Thomas Simpson Jr., and Thomas Simpson Sr.

Thomas Simpson Sr. is enumerated with 1-0-5-0-5. This translates to 1 male older than 16, 5 free females, and 5 slaves.

I don't have any proof of sons of Thomas Simpson but some of those listed above may be his. He has two proven daughters (through deed records). Ann Simspon married ? White. Sarah Simpson (1769 - 1839) married Richard Mullington Lewis.

Ann Simpson and ? White are my ancestors through daughter Sarah White who married James Muntz.

Thomas Simpson married Sarah Bryan, daughter of Thomas Bryan; again proven by a deed record.

I think these Simpsons were probably from the New Hanover County area.
