Am searching for any information on Caroline Hall Whitaker who lived in Washington abt 1820, Beaufort Cty. Whether this is the town of Washington or the County of, I don't know. I know considerable about her life after she married Dr. John D. Elwell but would like to know about the family in which she grew up, what schooling she had, etc.
She did have schooling for she taught for years in Abbotsburg in Bladen Cty, for many years.
Can someone direct me as to where I can locate such information.
It would be greatly appreciated.
Peggy Fountain Taylor
