Normans--1850 Census
Posted by: Kimberley Maples (ID *****5717) Date: January 16, 2003 at 17:58:55

Does anyone have any info on a Starkey Norman, his wife, Elizabeth, or son, James Norman that were listed in the 1850 census for the Washington District of Beaufort Co, NC? All I have is the information which was listed in that census. I know he was a "keeper of poor" and had about 22 other people living with him that didn't have the Norman surname. Starkey was listed as being 54 years old; wife was 52; son was 14. I'm mainly interested in the son, James, since that was my 2nd great grandfather's name and he was born the same year (1836). I'm just taking a stab, but this caught my eye since my James S Norman named one of his sons Edward Starkey Norman.

Any help at all is greatly appreciated and I am willing to share what information I have if anyone is interested.
