Hi Teresa, My grandmother was Laura Effie Wood, she was the daughter of Jesse Wood and Sarah Ann Jane Segraves. She had 4 brothers, William, Sherman, Walter F. and Levi, 2 sisters, Mary J., and Maude E.. Grandmas records say that Jesse was the son of Henry and Sarah Lavina Worley. Henry had 6 children, James R, Mariah Elizabeth, Samuel, Jesse, Mary Emaline, and Columbus Alexander. There is some question of who raised one of the children but not sure which one, but the name I have heard was Welch. Anyway, my mother said there were 2 Henry Wood. My grandmother Laura Effie married Avery Eldreth around 1914, had 5 children: Robert Jones, Glen Thomas, Gladys Marie, Walter Smith(called Hoover), and Jean, ( my mom). As far as I could find Henry and Sarah were from Franklin Va., married in Floyd, Va.. If you have other info I would be grateful to read it and if I can help let me know. Thankyou
Parmalee Hartzog
