Thelma Teague Goble, age 75, of Taylorsville, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born in Caldwell County July 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Jethro Wilson Teague and Leanna Josephine Palmer Teague. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as a Vacation Bible School worker and was a member of the Hospitality Circle. Mrs. Goble was employed at Ellendale Elementary School in the before and after-school-care program for a number of years. She was also known for her remembrance of birthdays. One of her friends recalls receiving a birthday card from Mrs. Goble for twenty-five years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Estelle Little, and five brothers, Hayden Palmer, Willie Teague, Turner Teague, Perry Teague, and John Teague. Survivors include her husband, Robert J. Goble; three sons, Garry Goble and wife Vicki of Hickory, Clyde Goble and wife Pat of Taylorsville, and Lee Goble and wife Sandy of Brentwood, Tenn.; two daughters, Ann Dobbins and husband Richard of Albany, Ga., and Darlene Bowles and husband Barry of Taylorsville; seven grandchildren, Denika Menis and husband Jimmy, Kasey Johnson and husband Brandon, Brandy Pennell and husband Kenny, and Jennifer Bowles, all of Taylorsville, Cassandra and Andrea Goble of Brentwood, Tenn., and Ricky Dobbins and wife April of Albany, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Jamie Menis of Taylorsville and Shelby Dobbins of Albany, Ga; two sisters, Jenna Russell and Tressie Pennell, both of Taylorsville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 12, 2005, at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Morris, Rev. Dennis Spivey, and Rev. Jamie Steele officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers included Jimmy Menis, Brandon Johnson, Kenny Pennell, Rex Bumgarner, Ricky Dobbins, and Danny Dyson.
