I'm looking for any information on John Q. Elder. He was born in Alexander County where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in the 38th NC Regiment Civil War at the age of 18. He was in the infantry and was a private. The date of his enlistment was November 2, 1861. He was wounded at Mechanicsville, VA on June 26, 1862. He was hospitalized at Richmond, VA where he died on July 7, 1862 of wounds.
I'm looking for information on his parents who they might have been and any other information. I would like to know if any one knows where he could be buried at in Richmond and maybe how I could get these records or whatever.
Like I said any information is helpful.
