William P. Rich

I am in search of the parents of William P. Rich. The 1850 Guilford County census shows a 17 year old William Rich living with 35 year old George Rich, 80 year old Peter Rich and his wife Elizabeth who is also 80 years old. All of the aforementioned show to be born in Orange County in a part of the county which later becomes Alamance. It is my opinion based on his birth of 1770 and his wife's name Elizabeth Garrett, that this has to be the son of Thomas Rich of Orange County who died in the Battle of Camden. It is shown from a land transfer deed that George is Peter's son. I would like to know who is the parents of the 17 year old William. William later marries Permelia Hains, fights in the Civil War in the 45th NC Regiment and spends most of his life in Rockingham County. If anyone has any information that may assist me in solving this puzzle I would sincerly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Fred Rich, NC
