I descended from Philip Walker,Sr. of Orange County NC through his son Philip Walker, Jr., who reported in the 1850 Henderson Co. TN census that he was born in PA.
I do not know what County, therefore I have been searching all of PA for any Philip Walker who lived there in 1780 when Philip Walker, Jr. was born. Recently I located some Walkers who were early settlers in what was called Lack Twp., later to become a part of Milford County, PA and later a part of the present day Juniata County, PA.
The Walkers listed as arriving as settlers in the Lack TWP Area by year are as follows: in 1771 Robert Walker, Jr, in 1775 Philip Walker, in 1776 Alexander Walker.
This Philip Walker would fit my Phillip Walker,Sr.'s family because Philip Walker, Jr. was born in 1780, which is five years after this Philip Walker was listed as being in residence at this township.
Also of interest are other surnames in this PA township which were later appear in Orange County, NC as neighbors of Phillip Walker, Sr. such as James Armstrong, Robert Huston, John Hardy, John Dickson, John Freeman, William Shaw, Peter Graham, James Kerr, Hugh McCully, James Crawford, William Thompson and Thomas Forsythe just to mention a few.
Does any one have any information on these PA Walkers?
