My name is Daniel Ray Nazelrod, Jr. My father is Daniel Ray Nazelrod, Sr. After I saw your posting on the net where I recognized some names and places I gave my father a call and he gave me the following information. My father's father is Edward Daniel Nazelrod. Edward Daniel Nazelrod is the brother of May Nazelrod, who is your great-grandmother and my great aunt. May had a daughter out of wedlock to a Mr. (first name?) Durr. The family refused to let them marry. May's daughter by Mr. Durr was your grandmother Louristine. May then married Emmet (Emmit?) Barnes. And Louristine married Charles (my father calls him Charlie); who, yes, was her step-uncle as he was the brother of Emmet. They were reared around Thomas, Tucker County, West Virginia; but did not originate around Paw Paw. My grandfather Edward moved from Thomas to Paw Paw in the late 1920's or early 1930's. I was born in Paw Paw. One of the two children of Charlie and Louristine that died in infancy was buried for years in the forest at our old home place in Paw Paw. We don't know if the baby was named. We think it was just "Baby" Nazelrod. I remember seeing the grave many times as a child. The grave no longer exists, as a hunter years ago (hunting where he was not allowed) happened upon the grave and went to the Sheriff. The Sheriff had the grave dug up, but of course there was nothing there as it had been years since the child had died. So unnecessary to disturb the grave. My father could still, I'm sure, find the spot of the grave. I could probably find the general area, but no more. This has been fun. Hope it sheds some light. My email address is dan_nazelrod@irco.com I can be reached at Ingersoll-Rand Company -- 717-532-9181 (ext. 5386).
