Vincent Nay b 1768 and Elizabeth Hefferling had a daughter Mildred Heffernon Nay b 1801 in Culpeper Co., VA who married (1) Charles Heffling and (2) John Jefferies. The Nay Family book lists 3 children of her marriage to Charles Heffling: (1) Amos b 1837, (2) Bush(rod) and (3) James mar. Louisa Hitt.
Now I have a VA marriaage document that states that James Madison Heflin (29), s/o Lawson A. & Ann Eliza Heflin, married Mary Louisa Hitt (18) on 15 Nov 1871 in Fauquier Co., VA.
I believe that the James mentioned in the Nay Family Book is James Russell Heflin b 1829 who married 22 Apr 1863 Mary Frances Welch b 1845.
Can anyone comfirm or identify the James mentioned in the Nay Book? Thanks
