HI Steven!
I am a Navarrete from the Philippines, specifically from Bacoor, Cavite. My dad is Nathaniel Monzon Navarrete & his dad was Matias Davilla Navarrete. I would love to trace my lineage further but my dad is now 82yrs old & his memory is not so clear anymore. I know he has spanish blood in both his dad & his mother Margarita Monzon.
I did get a family name history back in 2003 from a historical research center & was printed with description of coat of arms: Gules, a cross vaire argent and azure; a border gules, charged with eight saltires or.
Translation Gules(red)signifies Military Fortitude or( gold) denotes generosity.
Crest: Three ostrich feathers
Origin:Spain
It is a Toponymic origin derived form "casa solar, ancestral seal, of the original bearer. This name derives from the Basque word " NAVA or NABA" meaning "plateau by the mountain".
There are other meanings but this is the most typical for this name.
Hope to hear from others!
