Thank you.I think this fills in a lot of gaps.I've always wondered what exactly a kooltjer was.And while we had a lot of the birth certificates from when uncle Dick did work in Salt Lake in the 1970's, they've gotten impossible to read.I was going to ask you about the Wassenar name, we weren't sure we were reading it right.
My gradfather, Frank, was always upset about the change of Seijbren to Sam.Didn't approve of having it on the headstone.When my uncle Warren was born, there was debate about his middle name.It was finally, simply "S".At that we were lucky, I've heard that the folks at Ellis Island frequently changed last names they couldn't pronounce, lots of Smiths, and Jones, and Johnsons.
