Hi Bob. I'm sorry if I confused you! Let me start over. According to Henriette Boutin's marriage record her parents were:

Joseph Boutin and Marie Annie Nault dite Labry.

So, her parent's marriage was:

Joseph Boutin (Antoine Boutin & Marie Angelique Bisson)
m. 1 Sep 1812 St-Charles (Bellechasse)
Marie Anne Labrie (Joseph Labrie & Genevieve Paquet dite Lavallee)

Nault dit Labry (or variations such as Nault dit Labrie or even Naud dit Labry, etc.)is a "dit name". That means both names could be used, alone or separately. You have another example in "Paquet dit Lavallee". You may find ancestors with the last name Paquet or Lavallee or Paquet dit Lavallee. So, you just have to keep that in mind when you are looking.

Also, in French-Canadian subsequent marriages, the wife KEEPS her maiden name, in her burial record too. You would know it was a 2nd or 3rd marriage by the parish record which would state for example Marie Anne Labry, veuve de Joseph Boutin which means "widow of Joseph Boutin". Divorce was almost unheard of.

Hope this helps. Annie
