I have never heard of this family being Quakers. Peter's father Johann came over from the Palatinate Region of Germany in the mid 1730's. Johan settled in Pennsylvania and eventually moved to the Woodstock area of the Shenandoah Valley where he died. Most of his family eventually migrated to the Salem, Washington County, Indiana area from the 1820's to 1840's.
