Hi Barbara,Do you know if Gleantres is the same place as my Gleantrasna? In the 1800's Gleantrasna belonged to the parish of Carraroe as did most of the other villages in that area.I have done some checking of the Carraroe Parish Records from that era and have found Gleantrasna there.I always thought that there was only one Naughton family in Gleantrasna who happened to be my relatives because it is a very small village on the side of a mountain.I am going to a wedding on August 24th.the groom is a Naughton from Gleantrasna and I am hoping to get some more information then.My grandmother was one of 13 children, her father was Coleman Naughton born 1834,her mother Kate Conneely born 1859,their children:Coleman b.1879,Delia(Bridget)b.1882,she went to Pittsburg and married Joseph Molloy,Thomas b.1883 went to Pittsburg and married Margaret McDonagh,Kate(my grandmother)b.1884 went to Pittsburg but returned home and married my grandfather Patrick Conneely b.1875,Patrick b.1886/7?married twice 1.Bridget Naughton 2.Kate Conneely,he stayed in Gleantrasna,Nora b.1888(died an infant)Pennelope b.1892 never married, went to Pittsburg,Anne b.1890 married John McDonagh went to U.S.,Dudley b.1894/5? never married, never left Gleantrasna,Michael b.1897 went to Pittsburg and married Mary Finnerty also from Gleantrasna,Joseph b.1899 went to Pittsburg and married Kitty McNiel,Martin b.1901/2? went to Pittsburg amd married Julia Curran,Peter b.1904 went to Canada and never married.I don't know if any of this is of any use to you. Will get in touch again after the wedding.
