My grandmother was Florence Nattriss, born 1887 in Hackney, London. I have traced as far back as 1763 and all her Nattriss/Nattrass ancestors were born in the east end of London.
The earliest was John Nattriss, a tailor, born 1763 in Shadwell. His father was also John Nattriss but I have no idea where he was born. His mother was a Londoner, Ann Chester, from Limehouse.
So does anyone have a John Nattrass/iss/ess born around 1740 in Durham/Yorkshire who disappeared - perhaps to London ?
