Gus T A Nations who went by August Nations locally lived in St Francis county MO and was married to LULU Bloom. Right now I havent got my records in front of me but if you search all the other Nations I have answered you will get most of the story.
August died about 1893 around the time one of his sisters died. Lulu had apparently run off because his dad was mighty angry, as you would see if you read the petition papers he filed in the Sainte Genevieve county courthouse after August died and he had to raise three or four grandchildren. I'm guessing your related to one of them. James petitioned for money to support these children and itemized a full list of needs etc. When he died in 1916 not 1917 he mentioned them and some great grandchildren. I have both files somewhere if you need them. I also have a 1939 family history written by Augusts brother Gilbert O Nations 1866-1950. August and James are buried in the Haney Cemetery in St Frances co, Gilbert is in Farmington.
James' mother was Adeline Hinkle 1816-88 she was married to Thomas Nations 1818-64 both b Whitewater Christian Church, Perry CO MO. The family farm was where the present Lake Perry development is located. Nations creek runs from that source into Saline Creek.
We are twice related because Adeline Hinkle's sister Elizabeth married another Thomas Nations, cousin to yours. both lived on adjoining farms.
John Nations must have been older than b 1788 because that seems to be a second marriage. The old family record had daughter Cosby who married a Slagle or a Hauslieb cant remember, but someone else researched it and Cosby was b 1802 according to the census. Also will num 5 in Perry Co is for John Nations 1829 and Judith Hensley is a widow in the 1830,40 and 50 census. This is not to say that John died, but something strange was going on. She had children well after his "death" the last being Wesley in 1835. John either faked his death or thats his dad in 1829, but it dosent explain why shes listed as a widow. The will also lists a brother Joseph.
