Gottlieb Nathan was of German Parentage. They Came to America from Odessa Russia with their first 6 (?) children. The year was near 1884. They setteled in Menno, S. Dak. were he had homestead a farm. Acording to the obituary of Elizabeth Nathan Stuart they had 13 children. but we can account for only 12...
I think Granpa Richard was a store owner. I saw a picture once with him standing in front of a store.
I did my Army Basic Jan-March 1973. A-2-3 Down by the main gate near the reception station/Commisary Building in the 2 story Wooden Barracks. The last one on the block before you hit the beach. At least back then. Now there is a big gate and the little commisary is no longer there. They have a big PX and a Big Commisary. at least when I was station there in 1985. Since they closed it as a military post haven't been there. I went to Fort Gordon for communications Training then to Germany. Well I guess i'll go for now. Richard
