Thank you very much for the information! What a treasure trove for me. I have never been to either Grand Forks or Lodi either, but as a retired guy with a camper, I better go take a look at the cemetaries there. South Russia would be Odessa I imagine, but in my glance over the info about emmigrants from there, I found no reference to Kreiss Colony. Where do you think that Gottleib and Katherine lived out their lives? What did your grandpa Richard do for his living? My grandpa Harry was a salesman in Los Angeles for most of his adult life. He used to brag that he only finished the fourth grade. He died on July 4, 1962 in Orange County, California. I too tested for the Army in Oakland and did my basic training at Ft Ord between July 23 and Oct? 1962. A/3/1, up in the new barracks on the hill. Then to Ft Knox and tank training and then to Korea in December and then back to Combat Developments Command in Jan of 64. Missed Viet Nam. OK Richard. Thanks again. I am going to prowl around a bit on the internet and I will let you know if I turn up anything of interest. Gary Clark
