Hi,
I am looking for information on my NATHAN family from London.
In the 1841 Census Samuel NATHAN age 40 was living with his sons Edward b.1824, Abraham b.1826, Lewes b.1828 and Sanyon? male b.1830. All children were born out of London, maybe Kent?? No wife is mentioned.
Samuel then married Catherine ELKAN 1845 London, both previously widowed.
I have not been able to find any of them in the 1851 Census.
Lewis (Lewes) married Maria MOSES 1853 London and sailed to Sydney 1853. Their children were Samuel, Catherine (Hyman), Abraham, Pauline (Gomes), Edward, Esther Garcia), Sarah (Levy), Rachel (Audet).
Any information would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Margaret Stevens
Sydney
