I have not found any Nason, Taft, Kent, or Downes to match the supposed siblings of Hortense. Perhaps your great aunt can provide some clues to solve their identity.

Stephen and Sarah Downes were living at Somersworth in the 1860 census, with several children; Elizabeth was born about 1861 or 1862. [In my above post, Elizabeth's death, shown as age 32, was intended to be 36-2-18.] I did not find the family after 1860.

Aaron Nason was at Wakefield in 1850 and 1860. He was born 9 July 1825, son of Joseph and Mehepsabah (Tibbetts) Nason (see NEHGS Register, 99[1945]:56). In 1850, the preceding household on the census page was brother-in-law, James Berry, and widowed mother. I have no ancestry for Joseph.
