My name is Lawrence Navarre.I am the granson of Henry Loar and Bertha Meyers. My Parents were Lawrence Navarre and Rita C. Loar Navarre. My father passed in 1996 and my mother Rita in 2005. All of the children of Henry and Bertha have passed on. I was born in New Orleans and lived in Harvey until I was 4,we then moved to Belle Chasse and lived there for a little over a year. My farther was a carpenter and he was offered the job to build the Venice Theater when I was 5. That is where we lived for many years. I still have family there. While living in Venice I became a crewboat captain which gave me the opportunity to vist Port Eads and Burwood where my mother grew up. I know they moved from Burwood to New Orleans sometimes before WWII. She also told me about Tom Loar Pass which is off Grand Pass in Venice. I worked in the area for many years in the oiled field. This is when my mother told me that I had an Aunt buried on this pass. There is not much of the original pass any more but I was able to find a close proximity of her grave site. If I can be of anymore help please feel free to contact me at

Thank You
Lawrence Navarre Jr
