Trying to understand some new information I just obtained. I have two men who were listed as native German (names: Ebling and Grub). They were soldiers under Napolion I. Ebling was an officer in the French Cavalry and was at the burning of Moscow. He recieved a pension from the French government. Grub was a member of the French guard at the battles of Leipzig, Dresden, etc. and was intimately associated with Napolion through many campaigns. So..... were there Germans who fought under or with Napoleon. Does this sound possible (I have no knowledge of this era). I believe both men died later in Germany. Thanks for any help............would love to learn more about Ebling and Grub (given names unknown). Penny Notify Administrator about this message?
