Hi Terri,
I looked for my e-mail and couldn't find it, but from memory it was along the lines of; Go to a 'collector medals' type shop and ask them. When I found out my ancestor John Oliver was a Company Sergeant of Capt Sandham's Coy at Waterloo, I was interested in finding out about his medal. I went to one of these shops and they pulled out a book and looked up Sandham's Coy and there was his name. OK, you don't know which Company etc. but if you go to one, they might let you look through the book. I got the impression it was a common reference that lists who fought and the last-known owner of the medals. (There was no listed owners of John's medal. I later found out that John's was never issued. He retired the following year aged 49 and we believe he would have died well before they were issued).

Cheers
Barry
