And using the first index you mentioned to the Navy List for the Napoleonic Wars 1793 - 1815, look who I found. FLEEMING, Admiral the Hon Charles Elphinstone 1764 - 1840. I'm sure this is to whom Henry Rae was referring. I also have no reason to believe Henry was an officer - he was a saddler by trade - so didn't expect to find him in this index. There is a Liet Henry WRAYE [nl 1812] but I don't think that is him, nor do I understand the 'nl 1812'. I think my Henry was an ordinary sailor.
