Hi Sue, I have informtion on the Nanney family that goes back to the 1100's. Most of the ealy names came from the town or village in which they were born; example Madog of Nannau Unknown Lord; born Nannau, Merionethshire, Wales, England. The most legible is Howel (Hugh) Nanney b; Nannau, Merionethshire, Wales, England & married to Elin Salesbury, no birth or death dates. Howel or Hugh did have a child, Gruffydd Nanney b;1520 Nannau, Merionethshire, Wales, England, d; 1609. Gruffydd was an only child, that I've found, he was married to Jane Verch Humphrey. Gruffydd & Jane had five children that i have found, only two sons one of which there was info on he was Col. Hugh Nanney & Annes Vaughan and this is where the Nanney's that we know started.
