My Nance line is descended from an Older Clement Nance. He was born in VA (I think)before 1765 and his son Clement Jr was born in VA 1788 and died in 1850.Clement Nance Sr. had many children and his children named their children Clement, so you could be descended from any of them. They migrated from VA into northwest KY and then over the river into IN.Clement Nance Sr was a judge in Floyd Co, IN and performed the marriage of many of the Nance offspring.Sometimes in the records the name is spelled Nantz or Nants. But I think you'll find you're trail is in southern IN if you can figure out which Clement he might be.Clement Jr. had a son named Clement H but he wasn't born until 1833 and married Eliza Torrence.Hope this helps.I will look and see if I can find any other information in my documents.
