I'm trying to track down my gggrandfather, Thomas Nance, who probably was born abt. 1784-1786 probably in Virginia. I have conflicting info, some showing he may have been born in Kentucky and possibly was born around 1776. Parentage unknown. He lived in Trigg County, Kentucky at some point, and then moved to Tennessee, possibly Maury County. What I do know: he had a son, Joseph Walker Nance, born 1821-24 in Maury, Tennessee who married Elizabeth Pugh and after her death her sister, Nancy Pugh. His and Nancy's son, Walter Bennett Nance was my dad's dad. They lived in Maury County. I am at a loss as to how to get accurate info about Thomas Nance, his parents, birthplace and birthdate, siblings, grandparents, and accurate info on where he lived and when. Also, I am at a deadend on getting more info about Joseph Walker Nance (actual birth date and place; names of children - they're mostly initials on the census) I was almost named after Joseph Walker, but I was a girl. I lost my wonderful dad (Charles Bradford Nance) this past July and really want to piece together the puzzle to pass along to his grandkids. Thanks everyone.
