P S Nance
I was in contact with Pete Nance of the "Nance Register" some 25 years ago and he gave me the line I was searching for with a notation that it was not perfect but further searching on my part would put it all together.I put it aside figuring I could come back to it at any time and I CAN"t put it together. My husband descends from P S Nance born ca 1825 and married Manerva Jane Lindsey in Benton Co, Tn on 11 Feb 1849.He is listed in the 1850 census as Sanford. He is the son of a Williamborn ca 1785/90 and Debra born ca 1790.It is thought this William is a brother to James K Nance born ca 1792 and James K being the father of Richard Sanford Nance also Of Benton County, Tn.
Pete Nance told me William and James were sons of the Peter Nance of Camden District, SC who later moved to Surry/Yadkin area of NC.Can anyone verify this or point me in the right direction?
By the way the Peter and Elizabeth Nance who sell land in Dinwiddie Co, Va and turn up later in Camden District are on the Fishing Creek Presybterian Church visitation list of 1775:
Peter Nance, Elizabeth, William, Patty, John and Sarah
Would appreciate any help and thanks,
