John Wesley Nance, Madison Co, AL, 1828-??

Does anyone know what happened to John Wesley Nance, born ca. 1828 in Madison County, AL?

He was the son of Frederick Nance and Elizabeth Clark. Married Rutha (Ruthy) Hambrick in 1851.

Early in the Civil War, he was a Lieutenant in Forrest's original regiment (Maj. D. C. Kelly's Troop of Madison County volunteers) before its re-organization in May or June, 1862, when he apparently resigned.

In March 1915, his widow Rutha J. Nance filed for a Confederate pension on the basis of this service.

When did John W. Nance die? Where? Where is he buried? Was he active in Confederate military service after his resignation from Forrest's regiment? Any leads or information greatly appreciated. Feel free to email. Thank you.
