Hi
This John is my Great Great grandfather. What I have found so far is his Christening record: 13 March 1836 (Mylor). His parents were John Nancarrow and Christian Willson. (Interesting spelling).
I have also found christening certificates for other children whose parents were John & Christian:
Catherine April 1824 (Mylor)
Elizabeth Aug 1826 (Mylor)
William Aug 1826 (Mylor)
Theresa Oct 1828 (Mylor)
Ellen June 1831 (Mylor)
as well as John 1836 (Mylor)
In the 1841 census I found a Christan (spelling?) Nancarrow age 40 at Moor St Mylor. Her occupation was listed as Shopkeeper. In the household there were the following people:
Elizabeth age 15
Theresa age 12
Ellen age 9
John age 5
John Pascoe age 20 (Mason)
Ann Pascoe age 15
Ann Stevens age 30 (servant)
This was very interesting as our family was told that John Nancarrow was adopted by a man whose surname was Pascoe and he travelled to Australia with him. John went under the name of John Nancarrow Pascoe. But Pascoe died enroute and John reverted to his old surname of Nancarrow.
I found a burial record for a John Nancarrow in Mylor who MAY be John's father...but I am not sure. This Johndied in 1837 at Flushing age 44.That would mean he was born c. 1793. I found a Christening certificate for a John Nancarra (Mylor) for 1793. His parents were William and Johanna.
