Hi Molly,
My great grandmother was Birdy (Bertha) Nancarrow, so we're related! As a small boy I used to visit Beatrice and Bessie in the small town of Paynesdale (sp?). My grandmother was best of friends with Edgar, (her uncle),although he died before I was born, I believe. I don't think he ever married.

My great grandmother Birdy (Bertha) married Nelson Stratton who was the superintendant of the Adventure Cooper Mine in Greenland, Michigan. They had 8 children.

Two people you might write to or call for more information are:

Jane Smith
114 Granite Street
Ontonagon MI 49953 906/884-2667

Birdy (Bertha) Nancarrow Stratton was her grandmother.

Robert Stratton
1540 Ridge St, Marquette, MI 49855
(906) 226 - 6132

Birdy (Bertha) Nancarrow Stratton was his mother and he was a brother to my grandmother.

Best wishes! -Aaron Smith
East Lansing Michigan
