Dear Jens,

Thank you for your reply.

The 'Primus' was a Norwegian merchant ship owned by O.T.Tønnevold of ‘Skibsacties Primus’ and registered in Grimstad, Norway.

She docked at Luderitz Bay in South West Africa (now Namibia) before arriving at Port Adelaide, South Austraila on 2nd March 1911. At that time the master of the ship was W.B. Markussen and she was under orders from George Wills & Co. (agents). The ‘Primus’ then left Port Adelaide on the 7th March 1911 but held anchorage in the harbour before departing for Port Victoria, South Australia on 9th March 1911.

My great-grandfather, Nils Nilsen, was a member of the crew of the 'Primus' at this time. He was born in Drammen in 1890.

I was hoping to find where the 'Primus' had departed from before docking at Luderitz bay. Could be Norway or England. I am also hoping that a crew list for this vessel might exist, but it is unlikely.

Any help or advice you could give would be appreciated.
