I am also looking for information on Najeras in the Philippines. I know very little about that side of the family, but the name has carried on. My paternal grandfather was Edward Najera Collins, born to Edward Collins and Mary Casas Najera, in Manila, in 1908. His father was American military, and died around that time, so my grandfather grew up in the Philippines, with his brother Thomas, raised by his uncle, presumably a Najera. I do not know the uncle's name.
The mother, Mary Casas Najera, eventually remarried, adopted two children from Russia, and is buried in Denver, Co. My grandfather moved to California at age 18 and never returned to the Philippines.
I would love to find out anything about the family. The stories I've heard was that she was the daughter of the 2nd son of the Duke of Najera, and the family came to the Philippines because it was a colony, while the 1st son stayed in Spain.
Thanks,
Summer
