I'm sure that you know that a Naish (my grandfather's uncle, I think) started the first garage in Salisbury in New Street (now a trendy restuarant). The car dealer Edward Ford took over in the 1930's. My mother used to say that he was a blacksmith, and changed to cars around the turn of the century. Not sure if this is your branch of the family ...
