Looking for information on Emily Nail and her family and children. She marrried Samuel J. McFarland on November 3, 1853 in Montgomery County, Texas. Census listing this family in 1860:

Samuel McFarland dies June 25, 1860 and Emily Nail McFarland married John R. Whitley, April 3, 1864 in DeWitt County, Texas. 1870 census for the family is:

I believe that John Whitley was married previous to Emily, as I have found who I believe is the same person in the following census listings:

I haven't located the wife Elizabeth in 1870, but in 1880 I find:

Emily Nail's daughter, Celeste McFarland married Michael O'Meara December 1, 1870 in Goliad County, Texas, and they appear in the 1880 census, with Celeste's half sister Fannie, and a Mattie McFarland who I have not been able to identify:

In searching for Emily Nail prior to her marriage to Samuel McFarland, I have found one census entry in 1850 that might be her, although I have not proof of this.
