Additional evidence that they are brothers comes from the Roster of G Company, 187th Infantry, Pittston, publ in 1895. Miner/Minor Nagle/Naugle and Wm. Nagle/Naugle were both listed as: Mustered In: Apr 7, 1865
Mustered Out: Aug 3, 1865
Miner was listed as living is Espy, Columbia Co (confirmed in 1900 Census) and William is listed as "dead". In 1860 Miner lived in Pittston Township.
Miner had a son, William F. Nagle (1860 Census, Luzerne Co. In 1930 William F. lived in Ransom, Lackawana Co. Peter Nagle's son is just William Nagle - my error.
I believe I have Peter Nagle located in the 1840 Census (Wilkes Barre)as his age & those of his children fall into the correct age groups. In 1830 Peter appears to be living with his wife (ages correct) and two other "Heads of Families": Johann/John (?)Nagle and Christian Nagle - both od whom are older. My thought is that Peter's father was also Peter Nagle married to Anna Maria (-) as described in the Orphan Court Records (Luzerne website).
I think there is a good likelyhood that our two families are related - the first names (William, Frederick, George, Mary A.)have a certain commonality. I am checking deeds and wills in Northumberland (Frederick Nagel is listed in probate from Moore TWP, Northampton Co. in 1779 -FHC film #0946454)with the hopes of finding ancestors of Peter Nagle(b. ca 1802).
