Debra, There has never been a Dubois Iowa, neither county, township, town, or even post office. The 1850 Henderson co Ky. census does not say the children were born In Dubuois Iowa, it says Ia. Iowa became a state in 1846 and for a long time in that time frame the acceptable abbreviation for Indiana was Ia. You will see this problem on many of the 1850 census images. Dick
