This is my Nagel family from Breckenridge, but there is a another Nagel family in the same area, I have yet to find a connection. If this info helps let me know.

Barnhardt was a Solider in Germany. He made three trips here to America before staying. Ann and
Barnhardt were married in Germany

She gave her money she got from a inheritance from her family to send her children to America as
soon as they were old enough to come as she didn't want them to live in Germany and to be come
German soldiers. But didn't get to come to America she died in 1904

Notes for CHARLES NAGEL:
Both sides of family had been confirmed as children in Lutheran Churches. Both in Germany and
America. Built first house in Norwood, Ohio. Charles worked at a stove pipe factory earning $13.00 per
week. Went to night school to learn English and Bookkeeping. Was a bookkeeper at a loan company.
They met at Odd Fellow Hall Party, won prize as best dancers.
Moved to North Vernon, Indiana in 1895 on farm because of health reasons, became farmers-1900
moved to Chenoa, Illinois for better farming--moved to Fair bury Illinois to larger farm. Joined
Presbyterian Church in Fair bury because there was no Lutheran Church.
Moved to Breckenridge Michigan in 1915 sold some tools and 20 head of horses--sold cows, pigs,
chickens, anything with divided hoof because of Hoof and Mouth disease. Charted 2 freight cars for 6
horses, tools and household goods at a cost of $193.96. Retired in 1920 to MT. Pleasant Michigan.
Fraternal Affliations, Odd Fellows.
Funeral date was 9-20-1938 at the Emil Nagel Home, at 2 p.m. Clergman was Prof. Frank Robison. Singers were Ernie Goetz. Bearers were Odd Fellows.

1917 and served in France. He was honorably discharged in March of 1919 and was a Charter member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Congregational Church and the Odd Fellows of
Breckenridge.

From Emil's War Record it has listed that his first camp was Camp Custer in September 21 of 1917. His rank was Recruit Co. C. 338th Inf.
Tranfers or Promotions were Trene. M.G.Co. 338th on March 4 of 1918. And then appointed Corporal June 22 of 1918. He was Transfered to 33rd Div. November 5, 1918, then transfered to Casual Co. 916 St. Aignon. He was discharged from service March 12, 1919 for reasons of Demoblization. Identification number was 2019649.
